Recommendations & Advisory Disclaimer
Last updated: 16 August 2026
Groundwork helps you scope a problem and points you towards software that could fix it. Please read how to treat that guidance.
Groundwork is in beta
The Service is in open beta, and that matters most here of all. The recommendations are generated by AI models against what you told us, and during beta they are less tested than they will be. Treat every shortlist as a lead to check, not a conclusion. Verify a tool's price, features and fit yourself before you spend anything on it.
We're impartial — and we mean it
- We take no commission, affiliate fee, referral fee or payment of any kind from any software vendor to be listed, recommended or ranked. Our only income is what you pay us.
- Our shortlist is built from a transparent scoring method — how well a tool fits what you told us you need, its value against the cost of doing nothing, and honest risk flags — never popularity, marketing budgets or kickbacks.
- Impartiality is the whole point of Groundwork. If that ever changes, we'll say so plainly here.
It's guidance, not professional advice
- Groundwork's output — the Problem Card, the shortlist, the documents — is a well-informed starting point to help you decide. It is not professional, financial, legal, tax, accounting or investment advice, and it is not a recommendation to enter any specific contract.
- We don't know everything about your business. Use your own judgement, and take professional advice where the decision warrants it.
Always check before you buy
- Pricing changes. We show pricing to the best of our knowledge, and (on paid plans) we try to verify the key figures — but vendors change prices, plans and terms without notice. Confirm the current price and what's included directly with the vendor before you commit.
- Suitability is yours to judge. A tool that fits most firms may not fit yours. Trial it, check it does what you need, and read the vendor's own terms and privacy policy.
AI-generated content
Parts of Groundwork are produced by AI models, which can occasionally be wrong, out of date, or miss something. Treat the output as a knowledgeable draft to sense-check, not as fact.
Third-party software is the vendor's responsibility
We don't control any third-party software we mention. Its performance, availability, security, data handling, support and terms are between you and that vendor. We're not responsible or liable for it, or for your decision to buy, not buy, or use it.
The honest baseline
We'll always show "carry on as you are" — doing nothing — as a real option, costed as honestly as we can, so every recommendation is measured against it. Sometimes the right answer is not to buy anything, and we'll tell you when we think that's the case.
Your use of Groundwork's recommendations is subject to our Terms of Service and the liability limits set out there.
